The greatness of a nation and its moral progress

Welcome to Hurricane Pets Rescue (HPR)

YOUR DONATION IS DESPERATELY NEEDED
HPR is asking for your support. Times are tough, and even tougher for the
animals. HPR saves hundreds of precious lives each year, and we hope to
continue doing so for many years to come. Providing the basics for the
animals in our rescue is a real struggle and our bank account is going very
fast. Currently we have an outstanding balance with our vet of $6, 000.00, plus
daily expenses such as food, litter, medications, vaccinations, spay/neuters,
testing and medical needs arise each day. It is ONLY through contributions
from generous people like you that will allow us to continue doing the work we
do to save more lives each year. Even small donations make a big
difference. If you can help the homeless animals at HPR, please contribute
today by clicking on the donation button below. And thank you, in advance,
for caring.

Hurricane Pets Rescue (HPR) is a 501c3 non-profit nationwide disaster relief/animal welfare organization started in 2005 following hurricane Katrina. Our goal is to help families locate their lost pets or find homes for orphaned animals across the USA.
Sponsored and Organized by http://groups.yahoo.com/group/hurricanepets/
Our Yahoo Group website above furnishes contacts and information to help people caught in a disaster situation. On the site, open the link to "Database" in the left-hand menu.
HPR is an all breed, nationwide NO KILL non-profit rescue. We offer shelter and care for homeless disaster relief animals, through a network of rescue and foster homes. We encourage Spay and Neuter programs and present education regarding animal care and welfare.
Hurricane Pets is compromised of a small group of private individuals, committed
to the lives of the animals we save.
Most of the animals we rescue following a disaster situation remain in foster
care for a period of 3 months. If after 3 months the animal is not
reclaimed by its owner, that animal is then put up for adoption. Some
animals are also owner surrender and those are put up for adoption immediately.
All
expenses come out of our own pockets. Adoption fees are set to a limited amount
and are used to offset the cost of necessary medical and caring expenses of the
animals in our care. We are not a shelter and we operate solely from
foster homes.
Some adoptable pets are located in our home location, Miami, and if you like to see them, please call or e-mail us to make an appointment. You may also see our cats on Sturday at Petco in North Miami right next to Costco. Please note that you MUST fill out a screening application before seeing our pets.
If you are a kind, loving, caring adopter who will love and care for your pet and do the best you can to protect and provide for them you are the kind of adopter we want and please take a look at our animals that need homes. We reserve the right to refuse to adopt to anyone.
In addition to the animals HPR has in our care in our Miami location, we also share URGENT, individual pleas here on our website for orphaned and injured animals around the country needing homes and emergency care. Please take time to visit the link below, and email or telephone the individual listed as the contact person for each animal if you can help, foster, adopt, etc. Thank you.

Operation Noble Foster - Many thousands of requests for the fostering of pets have come in from members of our armed forces, National Guard and Reservists, that are being called to active duty as a result of the War on Terror, including the deployments in Afghanistan and Iraq. Operation Noble Foster volunteers are proud to have provided so many caring cat foster homes and for making it possible for there to be many very happy reunions, and many have continued to foster for other military pets. |

Only 1 out of 12 cats born ever finds a home. 800 dogs & cats are KILLED each HOUR in the U.S, because there are not enough homes for them. Please adopt and/or foster! PLEASE spay and neuter your pets - watch this VIDEO

assistance with pet care, poison control, disaster preparedness, etc.
Lost and injured animals have special needs - we hope you will contact one of the heart-led agencies listed on our "shelter page" to help - everything is appreciated - your time, your money and your prayers. This site will be updated as information is available. Please email us with rescue info to share.
Tips on Caring for Traumatized Animals

Please CONTACT THE AGENCY OR SHELTER first to see what their immediate needs may be. And an hour or two of your time to walk dogs or clean kennels is always appreciated.
