April 19 - New babies at the Miami Trailer Park
Welcome Evita's 4 beautiful babies into the world! Yesterday, this sweet little girl delivered 5 babies. One was stillborn, but the remaining 4 are doing great! Evita was rescued from a trailer park in Miami that is being torn down. Now we have to think of names.... I'm thinking cities in Argentina?! :) Enjoy the pix and remember, they will need homes soon!

Update on Miami Trailer Park Cats as of January 29, 2008:
Posted by Celene, President of HPR
Hi everyone just want to give a little update.
We have been in talks with the developer and we finally got a call from them today, the good news is that we got and extension until March 15 to get all the animals to safety! The company is also giving us a trailer to house the animals to recuperate after vetting, they will pay for electric and water, once the project is completed they will make a donation of $ 2, 500.00 which is nothing for the amount of animals they are there to vet. But we take all we can get.
This should really be an example to developer companies and once we get on the news which they have been contacted already, we will make sure their name and good deed is mentioned.
In addition one of our sponsor helped with renting an apartment to house the animals until mid Feb, until they can be moved.
I don't know if you all recall but went I got the initial call it was my understanding that at least most of the animals were spay/neutered, well from 200 + I will said only about 30 are. As we are picking up the animals (as it was expected ) we are running into problems. For example Smokey went to get neutered and we found out he had a tumor that was bleeding, so $ 300 dollars later to remove the tumor + the neutering and testing it ended up being $ 400+ went for Smokey alone.
Most of the animals all have loose stools probably from worms so all are being treated, also they are all infested with fleas, everyone is being advantage, so the cost keeps rising.
One little sweet guy that had mange I bathed him yesterday they were so many fleas on him it was unreal, when we trimmed his nails he didn't even have a blood line, this is how anemic this guy is. Some have UTI'S, etc.
Please forgive us because we keep asking but please everyone we need $$$ donations, any amount you can donate it will help!
We also need hands on volunteers and we are desperate for cages medium and large.
Foster homes and permanent homes are also desperately needed
PLEASE HELP US HELP THESE ANIMALS, WE CANNOT DO IT WITHOUT YOU!
Here is the list again of what is needed, I know we are all strapped for money, any amount you can donate will help.(see list below for donations). Thank you in advance for anything you can contribute and always God Bless. 6 cats go adopted this weekend I will send a-separate e-mail with the pics of the lucky ones.
